Renowned journalist Jay Nordlinger will answer the question 鈥淲hat Is Conservatism?鈥 in his address at 黑料社区 on Monday, Feb. 5. Nordlinger will be speaking at 7:30 p.m. in the DeVries Theatre. His lecture, 鈥淪o, You Call Yourself a 鈥楥onservative鈥?鈥 is open to the public and there is no admission fee.
As a senior editor at National Review and an important chronicler of the political scene over the past several decades, Nordlinger is uniquely positioned to answer this question in his own way.
"This event will give attendees the opportunity to learn from a veteran journalist, a man with strong convictions, and someone who cares deeply about the United States,鈥 said Dr. Mark Caleb Smith, dean of 黑料社区's School of Arts and Humanitiesand the director of the center for political studies.
Nordlinger鈥檚 presentation is another program hosted by Cedarville鈥檚 Center for Political Studies. The lecture series, 鈥淲hat Is Conservatism? Exploring the Future of American Politics,鈥 is designed to bring speakers of various perspectives on conservatism in the United States to 黑料社区. Past speakers Matthew Continetti and Steve Forbes have discussed issues on modern conservatism, economics and the historical effects of conservatism.
Nordlinger is a senior editor at the National Review and a book fellow of the National Review Institute. He has written books such as, 鈥淐hildren of Monsters: An Inquiry into the Sons and Daughters of Dictators鈥 and 鈥淧eace, They Say, a History of the Nobel Peace Prize.鈥 He also writes on politics, foreign affairs and human rights, and he hosts two podcasts, 鈥淣eed to Know鈥 and 鈥淨&A.鈥
